Audi joins Mercedes-Benz, Red Bull Racing Powertrains, Ferrari, and Renault as supplier. The power unit will be made at Audi Sport's facility in Neuburg, claimed to already have test benches for F1 engines, electric motors, and battery testing. Adam Baker will spearhead the F1 program as CEO.
For 2026, the basic 1.6-litre turbo V6 petrol-hybrid engine formula remains unchanged, but will use sustainable fuels, more electrical power, dump the Motor Generator Unit Heat (MGU-H) and have an engine cost cap.
