The Indian Car of the Year, popularly known as the ICOTY is the country’s most prestigious automotive award and is widely regarded as the Oscar award of the Indian automotive industry. JK Tyre has been sponsoring the ICOTY (and IMOTY) awards since their inception and has been an integral part of these prestigious awards. Each year, the ICOTY jury, consisting of the country’s top automotive journalists gets together to award the winner and this year, it’s the Kia Carens that has claimed top honours. 2023 is the first time Kia India has won the prestigious award, interestingly for the Carens, having missed out on winning the ICOTY for previous contenders like the Seltos and Sonet. The Carens has won this year’s ICOTY ahead of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Mahindra Scorpio N, which were the first and second runners up respectively in this year's points tally.
