How it works 
Similar to Formula One, consider it a Saturday appetiser to Sunday's main Grand Prix. It'll essentially run half the race distance, with points being awarded from 12 (first place) to 1 (ninth place). However, unlike F1 sprints, it won't affect the main grand prix's grid order.&nbsp;Like before, the grid order for both the sprint and main races will be decided from qualifying's Q1-Q2 format.

Friday sees two longer practice sessions with combined times determining the Q2 entrants. Saturday will have a practice session, qualifying, and the sprint race on the same day with the Grand Prix running on Sunday.
