Lithium-ion batteries have, over time, proved to be dangerous, despite their immense storage capacity and range. The next best solution is Zinc. Apart from being more inert and stable than lithium, it is found in abundance and more affordable to procure. Its batteries have high specific energy and long cycle life. This element has long been applied in dry cells or AA / AAA cells and used for various applications like remote controls, clocks, toys, radios, etc. Thus its resurgence in the fastdeveloping battery world is happening in the form of zinc-air, zinc-ion and nickel-zinc batteries for EV applications.
