Revolutionizing mobility, the autonomous vehicle stands at the forefront of technological innovation, promising to reshape how we navigate the world. Embedded with advanced sensors, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge algorithms, these vehicles operate independently, free from human intervention. During an interaction, Abhinav Kalia, CEO and Co-Founder, ARC Electric; Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility; Rashmi Gopala Rao, Industry Manager, MathWorks; Pratik Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO, Gensol EV provided erudite notions on the same.
Autonomous Vehicles Using AI and Sensors for Self-Navigation Abhinav Kalia shares that autonomous vehicles use a combination of advanced sensors, such as cameras, radar, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), and ultrasonic sensors, alongside sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) systems to navigate their environment safely without human intervention. These sensors continuously gather massive amounts of data about the vehicle's surroundings, including obstacles, road signs, and traffic conditions. The AI processes this data in real time to create a detailed map of the environment and make decisions about the vehicle's path, speed, and maneuvers. It uses algorithms for perception, decision-making, and control , adapting dynamically to changing conditions. Machine learning models within these systems are trained on vast datasets to recognize patterns and predict outcomes, enabling the vehicles to improve their navigation capabilities over time, thus achieving reliable and safe autonomous operation.
Autonomous vehicles rely on a combination of advanced sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) to navigate their surroundings without human intervention. Uday Narang bolded the following points:
