India's IT spending to reach $160 bn by 2025: Study

INDIA'S IT spending is projected to reach $160 billion in 2025, marking an 11.2% increase from 2024, according to a recent study by research firm Gartner.

"In 2025, Indian Chief Information Officers (CIOS) will begin allocating budgets for generative AI (GenAI) beyond initial proof-of-concept projects. While spending on GenAI is expected to rise, CIOS' expectations for its capabilities may decline. Additionally, Indian CIOS are expected to significantly increase spending on technologies such as cybersecurity, business intelligence, and data analytics in 2025 compared to 2024," said Naveen Mishra, VP Analyst at Gartner.

This shift in expectations could reflect a growing recognition of the technology's limitations or an adjustment as it continues to evolve.
