The creation of modern workplaces requires a collaborative approach, where architects, project heads, and facility managers work in synergy to develop functional, sustainable, and innovative office spaces. Each of these roles brings unique expertise to the table, contributing to the transformation of an office from concept to operational space.
The 19th Smart Office Summit, held in New Delhi last month, was a forum dedicated to exploring the future of workplace design, by bringing together leading experts and professionals to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and innovative strategies for creating modern, efficient, and sustainable office environments.
The event commenced with an opening address from Bibhor Srivastava, Managing Director of Events at ITP Media India, followed by a welcome address by Sudeshna Mukhopadhyay, Vice President at Havells Professional Lighting. Sudeshna emphasised the critical role of lighting, technology, and design in transforming traditional workspaces into smart, adaptable offices. She highlighted how these elements serve not only to improve functionality but also to enhance the overall employee experience.
The keynote address, delivered by Sanjay Singh, Director of ARCOP, focused on the changing nature of work and workplaces. Singh outlined how the modern office is evolving to support flexible work arrangements, collaboration, and well-being. He noted that organisations are increasingly adopting agile workspaces that foster creativity and productivity, while seamlessly integrating technology to support these shifts. His insights underscored the growing importance of designing spaces that can adapt to the dynamic needs of today’s workforce.
