La colecci&oacute;n est&aacute; compuesta de sillas, mesas, butacas, bancos y tambores, y es el resultado de la experimentaci&oacute;n del volumen y de la pigmentaci&oacute;n de materiales naturales, con una selecci&oacute;n de coloresinspirada en la tierra del altiplano mexicano, de rocas volc&aacute;nicas y sus diferentes matices, que van desde los negros, grises, marrones, rosados hasta terracotas intensos.
A partir de la silla emblema, que fue desarrollada originalmente para el proyecto Rocasal, la versi&oacute;n Lava adquiere m&aacute;s volumen y experimenta en los materiales que la componen papel y madera de rosa morada) entintados en colores que evocan los diferentes tipos de piedra volc&aacute;nica.
La silla, la butaca y el taburete de la colecci&oacute;n Lava est&aacute;n inspirados en la silla popular mexicana de origen mestizo pintada en vivos colores y de asiento tejido en tule, caracter&iacute;stica de la producci&oacute;n vern&aacute;cula del mobiliario del Estado de M&eacute;xico, en particular, de la regi&oacute;n de Toluca y de Tenancingo, donde com&uacute;nmente el hombre labra y ensambla la estructura de madera y la mujer teje y da el acabado de color.&nbsp;
Como complemento a la colecci&oacute;n y como referencia directa, el tambor Lava es un monolito de piedra volc&aacute;nica, el cual es labrado de forma manual por h&aacute;biles artesanos. Cumple la doble funci&oacute;n de banco y mesa auxiliar, y se presenta en dos delos colores m&aacute;s caracter&iacute;sticos, tezontle rojizo) y recinto gris), haciendo referencia a la silla Lava.
La colecci&oacute;n en conjunto es una muestra de c&oacute;mo los&nbsp;dise&ntilde;adores experimentan con diferentes materiales locales y los traducen a piezas contempor&aacute;neas que tienen car&aacute;cter y presencia.
