Brazil’s President-elect Luiz Lula da Silva has reportedly approached Indonesia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to form a united front of countries that have large tracts of tropical rainforest.
Such an alliance of rainforest nations would be crucial to unlocking funding for conservation and strengthening the current weak global forest pact, Reuters reported.
