How to start springtime? Definitely by giving your horses ivermectin orally. This antiparasitic medication became notorious during COVID-19, but its main virtue is that it has been proven to break the life cycle of insects, intestinal parasites and ticks.
Give all your horses a full dose of an oral dewormer containing ivermectin at the beginning of spring (September/October), then follow it up in about six weeks’ time. This will not only kill worms but influence the life cycles of biting flies and midges, as well as ticks and mange parasites sucking blood from your horses.
