Bengaluru is beset with a surge in stomach ailments, including a confirmed cholera case incidence reported, amidst an acute water shortage in the city. While the city civic body has not declared a full-blown outbreak so far, the city’s health officials and doctors are on high alert.
According to a report in Business Standard, one confirmed case of cholera has been reported in the Malleshwaram area, with samples from two other suspected cases from the same locality undergoing testing. Doctors at various hospitals in the city are reporting a significant increase in patients with severe stomach illnesses, including gastroenteritis, in recent weeks, with some testing positive for cholera.
