She discussed at length the hospital's business and technology focus, people strategy, and her vision for the future. Excerpts from the vidcast:
Wockhardt Hospitals Group is completing 25 years this year. Looking back, what are the top three achievements of the hospital that you are proud of as a business leader?
Reflecting on our 25-year journey, I am proud of several key achievements. We were the pioneers in recognizing the need for high-quality healthcare in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Initially, patients from these areas had to travel to metros for advanced medical treatments. By establishing hospitals in these regions, we have improved the standard of healthcare available locally.
We have successfully built a robust presence in metro, notably with the establishment of our state-of-the-art South Mumbai facility. Our hospital in Mumbai Central received JCI accreditation within its first three years, showcasing our adherence to international standards.
We have integrated advanced medical technologies and specialized services, such as our multidisciplinary regenerative medicine center, which has immense potential in various therapeutic areas. These efforts have cemented Wockhardt Hospitals as a leader in patient-centric care in India.
Tell us about your experience of setting up the Mumbai Central Hospital.
The Mumbai Central Hospital project was particularly significant as we built it from the ground up. Opening in 2014, this facility, along with our Mira Road hospital established a strong presence for us in Mumbai. The competitive market in South Mumbai was challenging, but we stayed true to our core philosophy of having full-time consultants, complemented by a network of visiting consultants.
