Keep communication fluid. "I don't think anyone responds well to a shock," Na says. That's why leaders should build up to big announcements or changes. For instance, before proposing a significant investment in marketing, Na might first talk to her father-in-law about the success of previous campaigns and the benefits of an increased spend. "Humans want to be front-loaded information," says Na.
Practice patience during conflict. Your exec team won't always agree with one another.&nbsp;When conversations get heated, it's best to stick a pin in it and discuss later. "You have to give conflict room to breathe," Na says.&nbsp;"When both parties are at an even keel, you can have a very sensible conversation." Even when you're family.
