Drawing from the culinary journey of Umesh Khaitan, 'Bapu's Curries: Culinary Journey of a Father' encapsulates his passion for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. A lawyer by profession, Khaitan travelled extensively, and it was his passion for the delicateness of food ingredients that culminated into inexplicably amazing and mouthwatering plates of food-and recipes. During childhood, watching his parents who were fabulous cooks helped him understand the nuances of cooking and how interesting the process can be.
Cooking is the love language of Khaitan and he can don his cooking apron at any occasion. The book documents some of his lovely recipes and celebrates his culinary journey, unique cooking concepts, heirloom recipes and some authentic Marwari recipes. An excerpt straight from the book:
