With a surge in demand for stylish, durable, and eco-friendly luggage, brands are stepping up to innovate and cater to the needs of the modern traveler. Leading this revolution are Indian brands like Nasher Miles, EUME and Uppercase, each carving a niche in the global market. They are not just reshaping the aesthetics of travel gear but also setting new standards in functionality and environmental responsibility.

Modern Traveler

Nasher Miles, co-founded by Shruti Kedia Daga in 2017, emerged from a keen observation of the market’s oligopolistic nature, dominated by VIP, Samsonite, and Safari. “Back in 2014, e-commerce was nascent in India, and we sensed a significant opportunity. The online customer was looking for more stylish options, and traditional players weren’t addressing this need,” says Daga. This insight led to the creation of Nasher Miles, a brand that stands out for its vibrant colors and extensive variety.

Uppercase, founded by Sudip Ghose, is carving a niche in the sustainable luggage market. Ghose was inspired by the growing demand for eco-friendly travel products among younger consumers and the new-age travelers. “We position ourselves as pioneers in sustainable innovation, focusing on lifestyle and travel needs while emphasizing environmental responsibility,” he shares.
