Tall, dark and good looking Gashmeer Mahajani is the son of Marathi superstar Ravindra Mahajan, who, like his son, was known for his killer good looks. So one can say he was born both with a silver spoon and good genes. Tell him that and while he agrees about the genes part, he says he’s made it this far in the industry without his father’s influence. The ruggedly handsome actor is making waves as a werewolf in the series, Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, making the millennial gals go all crazy over him, who think he’s dropped down from the pages of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight. Be warned girls, he’s happily married and is a father to a little bundle of joy, his son Vyom. We wonder why the hot hunk isn’t part of the Hindi industry, given his popularity on social media. He answers all that and more in a no-holds-barred interview. Excerpts:
Currently, you are shooting for the series Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, where you play a werewolf. So what are the most challenging things about your role?
The toughest part is to play someone who has lived 122 years. The second hardest part is that he is a werewolf. I had to be careful with my body language because their senses are always on high alert. And he has to mature as a 122-year-old man while looking like a 27-year-old boy, so acting isn’t the only thing that matters. To transform my body, I went through rigorous physical training, including hardcore stretches and yoga. Now I can do splits and somersault flips in the air. And my body is regaining the athletic strength it had when I was 17 or 18.
