ILLEGAL immigrant Rafael Govea Romero stalked a pretty high school cheerleader before brutally butchering her in Texas - and now the murderous Mexican may pay for the crime with his life, lawmen say.

Ruthless Romero, 23, "intentionally" slaughtered 16-year-old Lizbeth Medina in her Edna home, while attempting to commit "burglary, robbery or aggravated sexual assault," according to a criminal indictment.

Authorities say Romero - who had no known connection to Lizbeth - swiped the gal's phone after the attack because they tracked down the dummy 50 miles away in Schulenburg by tracing its cell signal!
