Come rain or shine, the show must go on, which was exactly what happened at the 20th annual Prince’s Trust Awards last week. Despite inclement weather, stars including presenter Kate Garraway, actors Martin Freeman and Damian Lewis and actress Helen George graced the red carpet at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane with big smiles and even bigger umbrellas.
A host of famous faces turned out for the final awards ceremony to be held under the organisation’s current name, before it is changed to The King’s Trust.
STRONG SUPPORT
Exuding elegance, Penny Lancaster – a long-time supporter and ambassador of the charity – turned heads in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress, smiling as she reflected on her work with the King.
“It’s an incredible experience because he’s always been interested in people and communities,” she told Hello!.
“What better charity than the Prince’s Trust to show that in its full glory, looking after young people – because they are the future, after all,” added Penny, 53. “It’s giving those children and young people who haven’t had the best start in life a second chance.”
Echoing her sentiment was beauty mogul Charlotte Tilbury, who had high praise for His Majesty. “What he has done with the Prince’s Trust – he’s helped 1.2 million people since he started it in 1976 with his severance pay from the Royal Navy – is incredible.
