The royal couple appeared delighted to meet the freshly sheared animal in a showcase of elements from the upcoming annual Brecon County Show, with Her Majesty giving it a gentle stroke and the King posing for photos.
An organic farmer himself who produces rare breeds of livestock on his land in Gloucestershire, His Majesty also met local food and drink producers and stopped to watch a sheep-shearing demonstration.
CROWDS GATHER
Earlier on their first official visit to Wales since the coronation, the couple were greeted by excited schoolchildren cheering and waving Union flags outside the town's 12th-century cathedral to mark the diocese's centenary year.
