As she celebrates her big birthday, actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker reflects on what ageing is teaching her

She has been one of Hollywood's most enduring style icons ever since TV viewers fell in love with her as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.

And after Sarah Jessica Parker turned 60 last week - with loving tributes paid by close friends including her co-star Cynthia Nixon and US talkshow host Andy Cohen - the fashion queen remains just as influential as ever, over two decades after the series came to an end.

But there is much more to her than clothes. The star-who has son James, 22, and 15-year-old twin daughters Marion and Tabitha with her actor husband Matthew Broderick has won numerous plaudits for her acting work on TV and on stage.

She has also launched a successful range of shoes and perfume, in addition to stepping back into Carrie's Manolo Blahniks to star in Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That....

As she enters her seventh decade, the actress talks about ageing, how she feels about her looks and which items from her most famous character's legendary wardrobe she has kept.

"It's flattering, but it's something I really don't think about. I do love clothes and fashion, but I don't go out to be anything other than myself.
