Wayne Rooney was a pillar of strength for his wife Coleen throughout her infamous Wagatha Christie trial.
Coleen, 37, praised her England football legend husband for being “supportive” during the libel hearing.
And now she is returning the favour – after Wayne was sacked as Birmingham City manager after less than three months in charge.
In a statement last week, Wayne, 38, said it would “take some time to get over this setback”, adding, “I plan to take some time with my family as I prepare for the next opportunity in my journey as a manager.”
A source close to the couple – who have four sons Kai, 14, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and five-year-old Cass – has told new that Wayne is “devastated”, but Coleen has been there for him every step of the way.
“Wayne is feeling really low,” our source said. “It’s now Coleen’s time to be there when he needs it the most. She’s being very supportive and making sure he’s in a positive mindset. She’s trying to do more with the kids to keep him busy and is suggesting different options for him.
