Davina McCall doesn’t often call out detractors on social media, but it clearly got too much for the TV presenter and fitness guru recently, as she furiously hit back at cruel trolls who slammed her looks and weight.
The 56-year-old mum-of-three was upset after being targeted by nasty trolls, who left comments on her recent Instagram video post about her food shop. Their claims that she looked “too skinny” and “gaunt” left the Long Lost Family host feeling “furious”.
According to a source, Davina – who is as well known for her fitness videos and online workouts as she is for her television work – has been left angry and upset by the trolling, and felt compelled to speak out.
The source told new, “There’s a lot of hurt about this, a lot of heartache, as Davina feels she’s always been very open about her fitness journey and how healthy she is. So to be slammed for being too ‘skinny’ goes against everything she believes in. However, she’s concentrating on not letting these comments get to her now, and moving forward.
“Because Davina has so much pride in the work she’s done to get her body and mind fit and well, the trolling was just too much – and she didn’t see why she should be silenced by it.”
The source added, “It started to get out of hand, and it’s not OK to criticise someone’s looks like that. Why shouldn’t she speak out? Some people seem to think that if you’re slim, it’s OK to criticise your looks – but it’s not, and Davina knows that.
