It is hard to imagine how surreal and heart-wrenchingly difficult the past week must have been for Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy and her young son, Bear.
It felt like the world was in collective mourning following the shock death last Wednesday, 16 October, of One Direction's Liam Payne at just 31, after a fatal fall from a third-floor balcony at a Buenos Aires hotel.
But for Cheryl, 41, the pain will surely be more acute, as she tries to find a way to move forward from the heartache of losing both the man she once loved, and the father of their seven-year-old child who has, overnight, been left without a father.
Amid coming to terms with such a tragic loss, Cheryl has already received a lot of support and condolences from her celebrity pals.
"I can't stop thinking about that poor wee boy [Bear] because Cheryl is going to have to break the news to him," Lorraine Kelly said. "He is only seven years old and Liam was always talking about his son, he was a really devoted dad."
