While she’s normally cool, calm and collected, Victoria Beckham has admitted that opening up about her life with David for a new tell-all documentary has dragged up painful memories she’s spent decades burying.
The bombshell four-part Netflix docuseries, titled Beckham, has forced the famous couple to revisit some of their hardest times together – including receiving kidnap threats against their newborn son and being sent bullets through the post.
A source told new last week that while the former Spice Girl was the driving force behind them agreeing to make the series, she found it difficult discussing certain parts of her private life.
“It was a difficult decision for Victoria and David about whether to go ahead with the documentary or not. But for Victoria, it was a sort of therapy,” they told us. “It was important for her to share her story, it wasn’t about showing people how strong they were, but showing her human side.
“It was easier at times for David, but for her it was difficult to open up because she buries everything. They don’t need the money, but this was important to Victoria for people to know the real her, and to know what they’ve been through as a family.”
Sharing her side of the story in detail for the first time, a visibly emotional Victoria, 49, admitted she found recording the series “stressful”, saying she’s spent years suppressing the memories.
“We were getting kidnapping threats right from when we had Brooklyn,” she revealed. “I mean, you can’t even explain how that feels, because we couldn’t hide.
