Katie Price has revealed her terrifying struggle with mental ill-health in a frank new documentary, Katie Price: Trauma And Me.

The star talks about her attempt at suicide, how she lives with PTSD, her daily battles with the “demon” inside her and how recent events have resulted in her kids being almost removed from her life.

Also for the first time, we hear from stepdad Paul, who believes that Katie’s downfall began after her divorce from Peter Andre.

The documentary follows Katie, 44, in the aftermath of her drink-driving crash last year and opens with her getting ready for court, where she narrowly avoided jail and was handed a 16-week suspended sentence and two-year driving ban.

But that wasn’t the trigger that started Katie’s mental health battle, with her openly revealing it got far worse a few years before.

“I hit a severe depression a couple of years ago, depression on top of PTSD. I was suicidal, I didn’t want to be here,” she says.

Katie describes her mental health issues as a “demon in me”, saying, “When I’m having a down moment it comes out. But I’ve got to keep it at bay because it knows. It got me one time when I was weak and it can always be there, it’s controlling it.”
