After Kerry Katona revealed she and her fiancé Ryan Mahoney had been “arguing like cats and dogs” in her column last week, things have finally come to a head and she is officially single.
The 44-year-old, who previously said she felt “unsupported” by Ryan, hinted to new at what was to come, saying she and her fiancé of three years weren’t “in a great place” before shocking her fans on social media by revealing they were no longer a couple.
The split couldn’t have come at a worse time for our columnist, who is also dealing with her mum’s serious illness, with Kerry telling us, “I could lose her.” Speaking to new just before she announced her break-up, Kerry said how lonely she was.
“I do feel very alone in all of this,” she exclusively told us. “I feel like I’m having to wrap my arms around myself and look after myself while being there for my mum. I got 45 minutes of sleep the other night and that was it. It’s horrible, just going over everything in your head.”
After Kerry revealed she was single – which was in response to an Instagram comment asking if her mum’s doctor was single – a source claimed she doesn’t feel Ryan has been supportive enough during their relationship.
“Ryan and Kerry have been on and off for a year,” our source claimed. “They’ve had a lot of stressful things happen in life and Kerry feels like Ryan hasn’t always been there for her while they’ve been going on. Ryan’s not a bad person, but he’s not overly supportive and Kerry needs more support from a partner. Before Sue went into hospital, things were really on the rocks anyway and with him being unsupportive, that was the final straw for her.
“Kerry is really gutted but, at the same time, it’s been a long time coming and the main priority is her mum at the moment.”
