What are the chances of getting pregnant around the same time as your best friend - and being due within days of one another? That's what appeared to have happened to Heidi Broussard and Magen Rose Fieramusca, who'd been friends ever since they'd met as 11-year-olds at a church camp in Columbus, Texas.
The two women chatted excitedly about watching their babies grow up together, their shared experience strengthening an already close bond.
Thirty-three-year-old Heidi, from Austin, Texas, lived with her six-year-old son and fiancé Shane Carey. For Fieramusca, it was her first baby with her boyfriend Christopher Green. They lived in Houston, more than 140 miles away.
Despite the distance, Fieramusca made it clear she'd be there every step of the way to support Heidi. She set up a baby gift registry to prepare for her own new arrival. Fieramusca told Heidi that their due dates were close so it was possible their babies could even share a birthday.
Heidi went into labour first when her waters broke at home. She let her friend know and Fieramusca immediately drove to the hospital.
Heidi's daughter Margo was born on 26 November 2019 and Fieramusca was there to hold her friend's hand in the delivery room, with her full-term baby bump visible.
A TRUSTED FRIEND
Fieramusca was keen to hold Margo and even jumped ahead of family members to enjoy a cuddle. She then borrowed a key so she could let herself into Heidi's home and rest for a while before driving back to Houston. Since Fieramusca was like family, it wasn't a concern. It was only later that Shane realised they never saw that key again.
Heidi was smitten with baby daughter Margo and happily adjusted to life as a mum-of-two. When Fieramusca sent a message to say she'd also given birth to a girl called Luna, Heidi waited expectantly for photos.
