Reality star Scarlett Moffatt's new baby boy - who she describes as a "bundle of hope" - helps build bridges with mum Betty following theft allegations

We do love a happy family reconciliation – especially when four generations are involved. Following reports of a fall-out between reality star Scarlett Moffatt, 32, and her mum Betty over stolen money, they stepped out for lunch last week, with a source telling new that the pair are “closer than ever”.

It was reported that Scarlett – who shot to fame with her mum on Channel 4 show Gogglebox – was devastated when she discovered, two years ago, that Betty had allegedly stolen £50,000 from her to fund an online gambling addiction. But according to our source, the arrival of baby boy Jude in June – who joined them for the outing along with Scarlett’s grandma Christine – has helped the pair get their relationship back on track.

“Scarlett is very forgiving and hates any kind of bad blood so she did struggle badly with her mum when everything went down,” said our source. “But the baby has definitely brought them closer. Betty has really been there for Scarlett recently, spending a lot of time with her since Jude’s arrival. It’s just what Scarlett needed.”
