Suzie Wells may be best known for being mum to former TOWIE stars Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd, and a devoted nanny to her six grandchildren – but as our exclusive photos show, when it comes to glamour, the 54-year-old has very much still got it!
In an attempt to boost Suzie’s self-esteem following her struggles with the menopause, Billie, 33, treated her mother to a burlesque photoshoot, and the pictures are nothing short of fabulous. Clearly delighted with the results, Suzie tells us it was an “incredible” experience and says, “I thought I’d never look like that in my life!”
Viewers of her elder daughter’s reality TV show, Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, will be very familiar with Suzie, given that she is forever popping up to help out with Billie’s children, Nelly, eight, Arthur, six, and five-month-old Margot. And when she’s not supporting Billie, she’s helping out Sam, 32, who lives in Surrey with her partner Paul and their kids, Paul Jr, seven, Rosie, five, and one-year-old Edward.
But while she is always there for her daughters, Suzie says they’re always there for her, too. When she started suffering with menopause symptoms in her late forties, which caused her to gain weight, have panic attacks and feel incredibly low, they were “extremely supportive”.
So much so, in fact, that Billie booked her an appointment with a specialist doctor recently, the results of which we’ll see play out on the show.
As well as detailing her menopause journey with us, Suzie also tells new how keen her girls are for her to meet someone, but how hard it is to find love in your fifties.
