Barefoot on an idyllic beach in the Maldives, Motsi Mabuse said “yes” again, as she and her husband of five years renewed their wedding vows.
With a path of rose petals trailing behind them on the spotless white sand, the couple celebrated their marriage in the tropical paradise, describing the experience as a “magical adventure”.
Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi and her husband, Ukrainian dancer Evgenij Voznyuk, reaffirmed their love in a stunning outdoor ceremony at the InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort.
Clutching a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, Motsi, 41, was the picture of elegance in a strapless cream jumpsuit and veil-like fascinator. Evgenij, 39, also went barefoot, and looked dapper in his light grey suit and quirky leopard-print bow tie.
‘IT TAKES A DEEP COMMITMENT TO GROW, AND AN EVEN DEEPER COMMITMENT TO ACCEPT A SOUL ENTIRELY… CHARMS, QUIRKS AND ALL’
After exchanging rings and celebrating their union with a kiss, the couple cut into a two-tiered butterfly-themed wedding cake, before enjoying a romantic dinner on the beach at sunset.
Fittingly, they shared a dance on the white sand before toasting their future, surrounded by lanterns and fairy lights arranged in the shape of a heart.
Motsi and Evgenij, who have a four-year-old daughter whose name hasn’t been made public, have been through a lot over the last year. The devastation of the Ukraine war forced Evgenij’s parents to move to the couple’s home in Germany after a neighbouring house was bombed. Heroic Evgenij even drove to the border of his native country to rescue refugees fleeing the conflict. Motsi said the situation in the war-torn country “broke her heart”.
