Opening the doors to their Essex home, Danielle Armstrong and Tommy Edney greet us with a warm welcome. After a hug and an offer of a cup of tea, it feels like we’re catching up with old friends.
Unfortunately, their two-year-old daughter Orla isn’t quite as enthusiastic about our arrival and is a tad camera shy. But when presented with a handful of strawberry sweets and given the chance to wear a princess-style pink tutu, she comes round to the idea of a photoshoot.
The couple have a special reason for the upheaval in Orla’s routine and inviting OK! to their four-bedroom property – they’re celebrating Danielle’s “very planned” second pregnancy. The 34-year-old reality star announced the news to her followers in January with a joyous Instagram post. “We are absolutely over the moon that we will be adding another bubba to our family, summer 2023,” she said.
We’re pleased to hear, two months on, that this pregnancy is worlds away from the difficult time Danielle had when expecting Orla and she is over the worst of her symptoms. Although she admits, “In the first 10 weeks I was probably hard to live with.”
“Really bad sickness, tired, aggy, but I’m so different now and actually feel like I’m enjoying the pregnancy,” the former TOWIE regular says. “The first time round was completely different. I had sickness until 28 weeks and this time has been so much better. That’s why I feel like this could be a boy.”
Danielle and Tommy reveal they started trying for their second child on their honeymoon in the Maldives last September.
