It's three years since Beyoncé's last live performance, so it was only fitting that her comeback gig last week was a spectacular display full of classic hits, show-stopping routines and fireworks.
The megastar took to the stage at the opening weekend of the luxe new Dubai hotel, Atlantis The Royal, to perform an array of her best-loved songs, including Naughty Girl, Crazy In Love and Halo.
Among the 1,500-strong audience at the event, dubbed a "once in a lifetime" night, were her family, including rapper husband Jay-Z, and their children Blue Ivy, 11, and five-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.
"There's a utopia of people from all over the world on this stage and we are so honoured to be here to celebrate this night with you," Beyoncé told the audience. "My parents are here tonight to celebrate my mother and my father. My beautiful children are here to see me perform and my beautiful husband." The 90-minute show, for which she is rumoured to have been paid $24 million, featured belly dancing, pyrotechnics and a duet with her daughter, Blue.
Of course it wouldn't be a Beyoncé concert without several costume changes, her most lavish being the revealing gold Dolce & Gabbana gown she wore for the blue-carpet photocall.
