Sheena Lynch joined ITV’s Real Housewives Of Cheshire back in 2021 after being “talked into it” by husband Shane. The 45-year-old has been married to the former Boyzone singer since 2007 – and says she has him to thank for persuading her to the join the show. The couple revealed that personal problems had led to them separating briefly during lockdown. But Sheena and Shane – who share children, Marley Mae, 11, and Billie Rae, 15 – are now happily back on track.
Here, Sheena – who had a successful career as a backing singer with Westlife, Blur and Miss Dynamite – opens up on spending more time with Shane, 47, since he retired from showbiz, and how moving to Cheshire has helped change their lives…
Hi, Sheena! Do you feel less nervous now than when you first started on RHOC?
I don’t think I was nervous, I just felt like the new kid at school, because I had never watched the show, so I didn’t know what to expect. But now I feel a lot more informed and I just love being a part of it.
What would you say is the key to the show’s lasting success?
I think it’s because here are a bunch of women who are all successful in their own right, and all lead very different lives. It’s both aspirational and very funny. It’s escapism for the viewer.
