Meet the new HOLLYWOOD HEARTTHROBS

GLEN POWELL

The students at Westwood High in Austin, Texas, weren't wrong when they voted Glen Powell as "Most Likely to be a Movie Star". Getting his start over two decades ago in Spy Kids 3: Game Over, it was the 35-year-old's role in 2022's Top Gun: Maverick that, as Men's Health put it,"took his career from a simmering breakout to a boil".

And after starring in the summer rom-com, Anyone but you, it's no wonder his Hit Man director Richard Linklater recently likened him to leading men George Clooney and Brad Pitt. "The best part about the slow burn of my career is that I've been doing this for 20 years and it's taken me a long time to just even get here, which for most people, feels like a starting line,"Powell told Collider. "I hope it's the start of something really great."

CHARLES MELTON

While he might be easily recognisable to members of a certain generation from the six seasons he spent playing Reggie Mantle on Riverdale, it won't be long until Charles Melton is on everybody's radar. After small screen roles on the teen drama, as well as Glee and American Horror Story, the 33-year-old stars alongside Hollywood heavyweights Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman in the critically acclaimed film, May December - which is currently in cinemas Down Under - with many hailing it Melton's breakout performance.

"Everything's happened very fast, but there's just so much gratitude," the actor told Harper's Bazaar of his career upswing, which recently saw him nominated for a Golden Globe and Critics' Choice award.
