Next month we’ll be seeing Salma Hayek in Magic Mike’s Last Dance playing a bored socialite. But first, the feisty actress returns to her role as Kitty Soft paws in the second instalment of the Puss in Boots franchise. Here, the Mexican star opens up about what to expect from this family favourite.

What can we expect from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish?

A wonderful family movie with lots of adventure, that is very funny, beautiful to look at with incredible, cutting-edge animation. It also has something nostalgic about it. But most importantly, it has a lot of heart and it talks about interesting things like making sure that you appreciate life. 

What made you want to return as Kitty Softpaws? 

I just love her as a character, so I was excited to have the possibility to be her again. I was a little nervous about it because I had such a good experience the first time – the movie did really well and so I had high expectations. But it was fantastic this time, too. In fact, I think it’s so much better because Kitty is sassier, bossier and her stunts are even greater.
