Deepti Kapoor's new novel, Age of Vice, follows three characters whose lives become linked, meaning the potential for either escape or devastation for them all. Set in India, the plot unfolds across contemporary New Delhi and poverty-stricken Uttar Pradesh, where gangsters are an everyday threat and violence is a common occurrence. The corrupt Wadia family are the catalyst to the action in the story and they are a family to be feared. Kapoor chose to base her book in the complex underworld of Delhi after living there for many years and watching it evolve.
