The late Queen Elizabeth II and her parents used the Royal Lodge as a country home, and the queen mother lived there alone for 50 years until her death. The queen’s favorite child, Prince Andrew, moved in with his daughters in 2004 after signing a 75-year lease and forking over roughly $11 million for renovations. (The price tag also included a onetime premium payment.) In 2008, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, took up residence, and in 2021, Princess Eugenie returned with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. “We live in the same house,” Fergie has said. “But, then, it’s a big house, so that’s OK.”
