It started just like any other Saturday afternoon. Wearing one of his trademark red tank tops and matching shorts, Richard Simmons arrived to teach a workout class at his famed Slimmons studio in Beverly Hills on Feb. 15, 2014. But as the class kicked off, something felt different. "His energy seemed off...he didn't crack any jokes, didn't smile and just didn't seem present at all," regulars Ava and Loretta Minett, aka the DoubleTime Twins, shared on Instagram in 2017. "We spoke with him after class, like we always did, and we just knew something wasn't right. The Richard Simmons spark, energy and enthusiasm we all knew and loved was gone."
