Secrets of THE CHOSEN!

JUDAS GOODBYE

Since he’s known as the most infamous traitor ever, it’s not exactly a spoiler that Luke Dimyan’s character won’t be around too much longer. (Jenkins has said Season 6 will depict the Crucifixion, and the final season will chronicle the Resurrection.) While Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, tells In Touch there may be a chance to see Judas in flashbacks, the betrayal scene has been filmed.

“It was difficult. It’s always tough to see actors leave a show because their characters have finished their journey,” he says of his 28-year-old co-star. “Luke has been such a part of the family and he’s such a funny kid. He’s the antithesis of what you’d think he would be off-screen.”

Jesus Gets Tough

Taking charge! As Bible readers know from John 2:14-16, shortly after He arrives in Jerusalem, Jesus uses a whip to cleanse the Temple. On Instagram, creator Dallas Jenkins called it "a major kick butt moment" of the season. For Jonathan, the scene was "like a dream come true," the actor tells In Touch, adding that he learned to properly wield the whip with a little "divine intervention" and help from stuntman Anthony De Longis, who taught the same skill to Harrison Ford for an Indiana Jones movie as well as Michelle Pfeiffer when she played Catwoman in Batman Returns.
