Sara and her classmates were told to prepare something for their mothers as an activity a little gift appreciating and honouring their mothers for everything that they do for them and their families.

As the school bell rang, Sara excitedly started discussing ideas with her friends to surprise Mummy.

It was a breezy April group of afternoon and they were all walking home-Sara, Ronak, Priti, Sarika, and Karan. They discussed ideas like making Mummy a surprise breakfast in the morning, preparing a greeting card, decorating the house and many other interesting ideas that would make her feel special.

Karan also had a very good idea-he wanted to surprise his Ma with an origami bouquet that they recently learnt to make in their craft class.

While discussing these ideas on their walk back home, they heard little 'meows' on a street corner.

Karan pointed towards the corner and the group stopped there, only to find a litter of six kittens meowing. They were so little that their eyes wouldn't fully open.

Sara and her friends started petting the kittens and then saw a 'Mama Cat' arrive and take them to a separate corner of the road to feed them milk.

The Mama cat looked like she was hurt in her ear. Sara felt bad for the Mama cat, but they soon left and went home.

After reaching home, Sara ran to the kitchen to find some snacks to eat.

"Beta, go wash your hands and freshen up. I will get your lunch ready by then", Sara's mother said.

"Mummy, I'm very hungry. Can I just get some chips to eat till then?" asked Sara.

"No beta, eating chips will spoil your appetite. Go freshen up. I'll serve you hot food on the table," Mummy said.
