THE MOST COLOURFUL CAKE

She dried them by pressing them in a thick dictionary. Then she drew hearts and coloured them with crayons.

But she wanted to do something even more special.

Ma had gone out for the day with Aunty Lucy to help her with her wedding shopping.

They had gone the way to the Big Tree Mall so it would be a long day.

Sally thought about baking a cake for mom! It would be a big surprise, for sure!

But Sally knew nothing about baking. She thought of asking grandpa, but he was busy watching games on the TV with his friends.

She couldn't ask grandma, as it was a Mother's Day cake. So a surprise for her as well.

That left her cousin Bobby squirrel.

Would he be of help? No harm in asking! thought Sally.

So, Sally climbed the spiral staircase to go up to the attic.

Bobby had his earphones on and was dancing.

He loved to dance with his fluffy tail. Then groove and let it fluff up. Then spin around and jump left and right.

As soon as Sally told him about her idea of baking a cake, he was willing to help as he learnt baking in school.

They both headed to the kitchen and looked at the shelves. He found some baking dishes, sugar, milk and icing tubes.

"So is it going to be a round cake or a rectangle," Bobby asked taking out the baking trays.
