On a hot summer day, Priyanshi and her friend Pallavi were walking home from school. Both were feeling thirsty as the heat was unbearable. Priyanshi's water bottle was empty.
"Pallavi, I'm very thirsty," said Priyanshi.
"Yes, even my throat is dry. And, my water bottle is empty too," Pallavi replied.
They saw a spout on the side of the road with an earthen pot full of water underneath it. Water was dripping from the spout. "Look, there is a spout. Let's fill our water bottles," Priyanshi suggested.
They opened the spout and started filling their water bottles.
After filling them, they tried to close the spout, but the water continued to leak. They didn't pay attention and drank the water before heading home.
From that day on, Priyanshi and Pallavi would fill their water bottles from the spout every day and drink the entire bottle on their way home.
One day, Priyanshi said, "Look, this pot under the spout gets filled with water dripping from the spout every day. Why don't we pour the water into this bowl so that the dogs and cows roaming around here can drink it?"
