An African safari is undeniably expensive but these tips will help you cut costs and make your dream trip happen
AN AFRICAN SAFARI MADE AFFORDABLE

There is no denying that an African safari is expensive, but, then again, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of us. If you’ve always wanted to see wildlife on safari in Africa, these simple strategies will ensure that you can plan for that unforgettable experience.

Stay In One Park And Shorten Your Stay

Most safaris are sold as two-week packages and take in many parks in different countries, which, obviously, means increased costs. Pick one park or reserve carefully, and choose to stay just three to four nights; in most of these, you will spot the Big Five – the lion, leopard, black rhinoceros, African bush elephant, and African buffalo – very quickly. This way, you will not only eliminate the costs of flying by bush plane from park to park, but also have the chance to slow your trip down and truly enjoy one area. Don’t discount the thrill of being able to go back to a lion kill you spotted on the first day and seeing the animal life that visits it to feed and scavenge. You can also choose to do bush walks rather than all game drives and even relax in the camp and watch the animals moving about close by.
