What are the most valuable lessons you've learned throughout your career?
Everyone has their own bias and background that affects their behaviour. People almost always need time to shine and express themselves truly, and a leader should be ready to invest in their growth. Also, tertiary care is challenging, but relies on strong connections with the patients, and is rewarding to those who are socially adept.
What advice would you give to women who are looking to advance in the healthcare services industry? 
I would suggest finding allies and advocates among the senior nurses, managers, and leaders who can help new workers make the most of their skills and advance in their field. Networking and finding a supportive community is the key to healthy career growth. Constantly finding programs that would help women develop their skills and become more integrated into their workplace would also be beneficial.
What skills do you think are essential to be a great leader? 
A great leader has a vision that they clearly see and know how to achieve, at least partially. Empathy and understanding human emotions and how they work are vital. Possessing technical skills in the field can help a leader have a more personalised experience that they can exercise successfully. Finally, a great leader knows when to push progress and when to wait and allow themselves and the organisation to rest.
