Most of Keenan Tham's childhood was spent with his father and grandfather the kitchen, learning, observing the business, and visiting restaurants there was a time when I was figuring things out," Keenan reveals. "I had work experience, but I was really interested in adventure activities so I was contemplating becoming a scuba diving instructor, skiing instructor or a helicopter pilot. But, when I started looking at options, I realised that my strength lay in the hospitality industry. I decided to join my father and make my adventure activities my passion and not my business," he adds. He went on to pursue his Bachelor Major in Restaurant Management from Griffith University, Australia in 2007. After returning and brainstorming with his brother Ryan Tham, the duo established Pebble Street Hospitality in 2015. "Ryan and I started&nbsp;a restaurant called The Good Wife, a European restobar, and, shortly after that, we founded Koko Mumbai, which was the premium and most popular Asian restaurant at the time," he reveals.&nbsp;"We then launched Foo for Asian tapas in 2018, which became our flagship brand; we have eight branches and are going pan India."
The going has been challenging.&nbsp;"Establishing the brand was difficult because putting down what you have in mind and communicating it to the audience is not easy," he explains.&nbsp;Keenan and Ryan have spent a lot of time building the brand, which eventually worked out in their favour.&nbsp;Currently, Keenan's focus is on taking Foo across the country and making it the number one Asian brand in India.&nbsp;"Along with that, personally, I want to dive and ski in the top five spots in the world," he ends with a smile.
