GET HABITUATED TO BEING HEALTHY

Health is everything, encompassing not just the ability to ward off illnesses, but also ticking off the mental wellness and emotional wellbeing checkboxes. As we gear up for all that our genes might have in store for us, let's be proactive about our health; the rest will follow. That being said, while getting started on the path to holistic wellness might be challenging, it's really about the small things and simple habits that you need to keep repeating consistently. Yes, we all know it's about eating right, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, getting adequate rest, and handling stress, but we still don't always manage, so let's have the experts tell us how to make it work.

MOVE MORE, SIT LESS

Being physically active shouldn't stop when you finish your 30-minute routine. It's equally important to spend less time being seated during the day. Use these tips to stay active:

▸Park at the back of the parking lot of your office or supermarket so you can walk more.

▸Take a five-minute walk instead of standing by the office cooler.

▸Use a standing desk and shuffle from side to side if you work at a computer.

▸Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

▸Walk to nearby stores and restaurants.

SLEEP SUCCESSFULLY

Lack of sleep not only leads to poor energy, difficulty in concentrating, and decreased productivity, but also has a cumulative effect on your general health and can trigger a number of chronic illnesses. Here are tips to improve your sleep:

▸Train your brain and body by sticking to a consistent sleep schedule.

▸Keep your bedroom quiet, dark and cool.

▸Use your bed only for sleeping, not for watching TV or reading.

▸Limit afternoon naps and caffeine.

▸Avoid alcohol and screen-time before bed.

STAY HYDRATED
