Drop low buns; go for a double braid instead.

JUST BRAID IT!

IF YOU'RE CONFUSED ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT TO USE, A COIN-SIZED AMOUNT FOR MEDIUM-THICK HAIR SHOULD SUFFICE

If you're looking to switch things up from your low bun or move away from straightened locks, opt for this braided hairdo.

Start by combing your hair with a detangling comb, to remove any knots. Put some mousse on your palms and gently comb your fingers through your hair so the product is evenly distributed. Using a section comb, create a deep middle parting and then divide your hair into two sections. Work with one section at a time.

WEAVE A COLOURFUL RIBBON IN WHILE YOU'RE BRAIDING YOUR HAIR

Take a thick section from the crown and start to make a French braid, adding sections of hair as you would in typical French braid fashion. Secure with a hair tie. Repeat the same with the other section. Wrap the ends of each braid with ribbon. Finish with light spritzes of hair spray and shine spray.

If you're looking to zhuzh up your braid even more, here are three ways to go...

1. Weave a ribbon in while you're braiding your hair. Add a length of ribbon to a section and weave it into your plait.

2. For a more ethereal look, pin a few pearls to your hair around your crown.

3. Bows are currently THE must-have accessory of the season; add a bow to the bottom of your braid.
