It took a lot to bring Jennifer Lawrence back from maternity leave. A lot of dirty jokes, that is. After welcoming son Cy in February 2022 with her husband, art gallerist Cooke Maroney, the actress, 32, says she "definitely wasn't planning on going back to work." Then she paged through the delightfully risqué script for the sex comedy No Hard Feelings. "It was the funniest thing I'd ever read," says Lawrence. A few months later she was in a van "with a cat and a baby" on her way to the film's set in the beach town of Montauk, N.Y. 

In the movie Lawrence plays Maddie, a cash-strapped Uber driver in danger of losing her home because of unpaid property taxes. When her car is repossessed, ruining her main source of income, she answers a Craigslist ad from two wealthy parents (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) looking to hire someone to "date" their awkward teen son Percy, played by Andrew Barth Feldman from Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen, and bring him out of his shell. ("Date him hard," the dad instructs.) Lawrence and her up-and-coming costar Feldman, 21, an undergrad at Harvard University, shared their sweet and salty sides with People.
