THE SCOTTISH STAR TALKS ABOUT LOVE, SINGING CÉLINE DION'S HITS AND WHAT'S NEXT AFTER OUTLANDER

Sam Heughan is accustomed to lusty fans, thanks to his portrayal of a kilt-clad (and, at times, not-at-all kilt-clad) 18th-century Scottish soldier on the Starz drama Outlander. Since the series’s 2014 debut, he’s received everything from marriage proposals to intimate autograph requests. “I’ve signed a few body parts,” he says with a sheepish smile.

Heughan, 43, would be wise to keep a Sharpie handy. He’s a big-screen heartthrob in the new romantic comedy Love Again, in which he plays Rob, a cynical music journalist whose new cell phone has the reassigned phone number of a man who died two years prior. The man’s former girlfriend Mira (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) texts intimate thoughts to her late lover, and Rob—receiving the messages, unbeknownst to Mira—falls for her from afar. To woo her, Rob seeks the advice of music icon Céline Dion (making her acting debut), whom he’s profiling for an article. Through it all, Heughan’s charm shines through, says Chopra Jonas: “There’s a reason why he has the following he does.”
