Angel Lynn was an 18-year-old college student from Loughborough with ambitions to become a forensic scientist. But her life changed for ever when she met new boyfriend Chay Bowskill.
Bowskill soon became abusive and controlling, and Lynn withdrew from those closest to her.
‘I felt helpless,’ says her mum Nikki in C4 documentary The Kidnap of Angel Lynn. ‘He’d message her wherever she was. I thought Angel and I had a relationship where she’d tell me anything. But in the end, he had complete control. She must have felt so trapped.’
